Before the Super Bowl, Westport will be the site of a major “Bowl” of a much more appetizing sort midday Sunday.

“MacChilifest,” featuring 22 entrants competing for culinary laurels in Classic Beef Chili, Creative Chili and Mac ’n’ Cheese categories, has announced its final menu line-up. The three reigning champions will return to defend their respective titles: Southport Brewing Co., Geronimo and Westport Fire Department, according to Jim Keenan, the event chairman.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Bedford Middle School, 88 North Ave.

Entries in the Classic Beef Chili category include:

• “Smokehouse Burnt End Chili” from Bobby Q's, Westport

• “Texas Peacemaker Chili” from Chilibomb, Fairfield

• “Bang ’n’ Chili” from Crave 52, Fairfield

• “Maple Chipotle Stout Chili” from SBC, Southport, Milford

• “Red Horn Chili” from the Blind Rhino, Norwalk

• “SmokeEater Chili” from Weston Fire Department

• “Greens Farms Firehouse Chili” from Westport Fire Department

Entries for the Creative Chili category include:

• “Turkey Vegetable Chili” from Chef's Table, Fairfield

• “Chili Chili Bang Bang Chili” from Da Pietro's, Westport

• “Hatch Green Chili” from Geronimo, Fairfield, New Haven

• “Pumpkin Brisket Chili” from Liquid Lunch, Shelton, Milford

• “Moroccan Picadillo Chili” from the Little Pub, Wilton, Greenwich, Ridgefield

• “Pat's Smokehouse Chili” from Old Post Tavern, Fairfield

• “Pork Rib Chili” from the Wire Mill BBQ, Redding

Entries for the Mac ’n’ Cheese category include:

• “Pulled Pork Mac” from Chilibomb, Fairfield

• “Crave 'R Mac” from Crave 52, Fairfield

• “The Q Bowl” from DrewbaQ food truck.

• “Kick’n Chic’n & Bacon Mac” from Mac’It, Norwalk

• “Cheddar & Ale Mac with pretzel crumb” from Sam's American Bistro, Stamford

• “Jacked Mac” from Simply Delicious, Norwalk

• “Maxaronni & Cheese” from SBC, Southport, Milford

• “Truffle Mushroom Mac ’n’ Cheese” from TruNorth, Bridgeport

Attendees will vote on their favorites by sampling from as many entries as they wish.

MacChilifest tickets costs $15 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 12 years old. They are on sale at www.MacChilifest.org or at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Turtle Shell Fund, which seeks to promote the education of young people in art, music, theater, skilled crafts and other creative pursuits, according to event organizers.
