Grandparents, their children and their grandchildren gathered Saturday at the Westport Library to raise their voices in celebration of National Grandparents Day as they watched a sing-along version of the movie musical, “Annie.”

The latest film adaptation of “Annie” was released last December, based on the 1977 Broadway musical of the same name inspired by the classic comic strip. The setting in this adaptation is modern-day Harlem.

The library gathering sang along to the musical’s well-known score with the lyrics projected as subtitles — a spirited performance in tune with the movie’s ever-plucky heroine.
