Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service is offering free, 30-minute introductory classes in CPR on four separate dates in May and June.
The classes are not for certification, EMS said, but will offer instruction in hands-only CPR for an adult showing no signs of life, how to assist an adult who is choking and cannot breathe, and how to use an automated external defibrillator.
Classes are scheduled from 9 to
9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10; Thursday, May 23; Friday, June 7; and Wednesday, June 19.
Classes will be in the training classroom of Police/EMS Headquarters, 50 Jesup Road. Participants should use the Training Division entrance on the west side of the building that faces the Westpoirt Library.
Advance registration is required in order to ensure a proper ratio of instructors to students.
To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 203-341-6030 and indicate which session you want to attend.
