The following dogs are available for adoption, according to Westport Animal Shelter advocates:

Diesel: This dog is 7-year-old pit-greyhound mix that came to Westport Animal Control after the death of his owner. He loves to go on walks and play with his tennis ball and is very well trained and good with people of all ages as well as other dogs. Diesel, who happily shared his home with a cat, is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations. Call the shelter at 203-341-5076.

Boston: This new resident of Westport Animal Control is a 6-year-old golden retriever that knows several tricks and is very friendly and affectionate. He is housebroken, neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations, but has not been socialized with other dogs or cats. He also tends to snatch food at eye level so older children would be best for him. Call the shelter at 203-341-5076.

Bama: This 1-year-old Staffordshire terrier-bulldog mix that is being fostered by an advocates volunteer is calm, loving, smart and affectionate with people of all ages and other dogs. She knows all her basic commands and is housebroken as well as spayed and up-to-date on her vaccinations. For information, email wasa1@optonline.net.

Luca: This dog is a 4-month-old blue Doberman-pit mix being fostered by an advocates volunteer. He is sweet, affectionate, great with other dogs and does very well off-leash at the dog park. He has long brown legs and big paws and will probably be tall when fully grown. For information, email wasa1@optonline.net or call 203-557-0361.
