Despite heavy rain overnight and early today, Westport has so far largely escaped the brunt of power outages caused by the blustery weather.

As of 10 a.m., only 11 of the 12,345 Westport customers of Connecticut Light and Power were reported to be without electric service. Scattered outages of more than 1,000 CL&P customers were reported around the utility's service area at that hour.

But more rain and possible thunderstorms are in the forecast for the rest of the day, with a flash flood watch in effect until 2 p.m. and a coastal flood advisory issued from 1 to 3 p.m.
