Westport Public Library will host a talk by feminist scholar Susan Ware on Amelia Earhart's place in the history of modern American culture 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the library's McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

Ware is an independent scholar who specializes in 20th-century U.S. history, women's history and biography. Educated at Wellesley College and Harvard University, she focuses on bringing women's history and feminist scholarship to a wide audience, according to a release from the library.

Ware is the author and editor of numerous books, including "Still Missing: Amelia Earhart and the Search for Modern Feminism"
