Father's Day concert brings families together

Sometimes distractions are a good thing.

That was the case yesterday evening when Fairfield families turned out to Owen Fish Park to enjoy the music of local R&B group, The Distractions. The kick-off event for the town's annual summer concert series, Sunday's performance was special in two ways: it was the first such concert at Owen Fish Park and it served as a great way for families to celebrate Father's Day.

The annual concert series traditionally takes place at Sherman Green in downtown. The next concert, on Thursday, June 21, will feature the sounds of the St. Luke's Steel Band. For a complete schedule of concerts, visit the town's website, www.fairfieldct.org
