A two-part program, showcasing themes of the new book, “The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook,” is planned July 9 at the Westport Library.

Authors Tracey Medeiros and Christy Colasurdo will lead the program, which will include a visit to the Westport Farmers Market. The event is free and open to the public.

Some of the chefs and farmers featured in the book will attend, and there will also be a recipe demonstration.

From 10 top 10:40 a.m., Colasurdo will be joined by Analiese Paik, founder of the Fairfield Green Food Guide for a discussion of local agricultural sourcing. Locally roasted coffee will be available courtesy of the Buzz Truck.

From 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., the program shifts to the farmers market on Imperial Avenue, where Lori Cochran, the market director, give a presentation on the all-organic, non-GMO market.

Medeiros also will offer a recipe demonstration using fresh market produce, followed by signing copies of “The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook” until 2 p.m.
