A solar-powered charging station, where motorists can recharge electric vehicles for free ,has opened at a Jesup Road credit union.

The station at the Tri-Town Teachers Federal Credit Union, 61 Jesup Road, may be used by the public around the clock, seven days a week, the credit union said in a news release.

The station accomodates two vehicles at a time and has both 240-volt and 110-volt charging plus.

The solar energy the station uses will accommodate about 250 full recharges annually, the credit union said.
