BRIDGEPORT -- A 25-year-old Bridgeport man is under arrest after a large quantity of cocaine and a Bushmaster .223 assault rifle were seized at his home Thursday morning, police said.

Members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Emergency Services Unit executed a search and seizure warrant at 285 Birmingham St.

The target of the warrant, Johnathan "Coco" Colon, was located in a second-floor bedroom.

Colon is a suspect in a recent "shots fired" incident, police said. Colon was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of an assault weapon and criminal possession of a firearm.

Colon is now in federal custody.

The Bushmaster .223 caliber semiautomatic weapon is the type of rifle used in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings last month.
