Richard Vicenzi, 24, of Norwalk, was arrested charged with driving under the influence early Saturday.

Vicenzi was driving west on Post Road West at a "high rate of speed," police said. When he was stopped, an officer smelled a "strong odor" of alcohol coming from the vehicle, according to the report. Vicenzi also failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Vicenzi was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear May 22 in Norwalk Superior Court.
