Driver in Westport charged with DUI

Claudia Stone, 49, of Bethel, was charged with driving under the influence following an accident Tuesday afternoon.

Officers were sent to the scene of a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on Post Road East. While speaking to one of the drivers, later identified as Stone, an officer reportedly smelled alcohol on her breath. Stone failed subsequent field sobriety tests, police said.

She was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and released on $500 bond.
