One person was hospitalized after a two-car collision Tuesday afternoon on the Merritt Parkway in Westport.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the two-car crash about 3:30 p.m. between northbound Exits 42 and 44.

The driver of an Acura suffered what firefighters said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries and was stabilized at the scene by firefighters and Westport EMS personnel.

The driver was then brought to Bridgeport Hospital for further evaluation of injuries. No one else was seriously hurt in the accident, which is being investigated by State Police.
