Brian Turano, 37, of 103 Bradley Lane, was charged with driving under the influence and improper parking around 2:15 a.m. Saturday after he was observed stopped in a traffic lane on Riverside Avenue, at the intersection of Saugatuck Avenue.

When officers pulled behind his vehicle, it appeared that Turano was sleeping. He allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and failed a field sobriety testing. Turano refused to take a Breathalyzer test at police headquarters, police said. Bond was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear Sept. 13 in Norwalk Superior Court.
