A car flipped over and landed on its roof in the Interstate 95 median early Sunday, but the driver walked away from the wreck.

The incident took place about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when the driver, traveling north between exits 16 and 17, lost control of his car after apparently being distracted, according to the firefighters' report, left the highway and turned over onto its roof in the median area.

Firefighters from both Westport and Norwalk were both dispatched to the scene.

The driver did not appear to have suffered any serious injuries, firefighters said.
