A Weston man, who police said left the scene after hitting a pedestrian in May, now has been charged.

Richard Goldberg, 65, of Davis Hill Road, was charged with evading responsibility in connection with the May 14 incident.

Police that day were dispatched to the area of Riverside Avenue near Charles Street to investigate the report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian who was hit by a car, according to a police report

Upon arrival, officers were told the vehicle had left the area.

The pedestrian was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Goldberg was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, according to police. He turned himself in to police Monday. His bond was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear June 29 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
