A Westport woman faces several charges after she was involved in a hit-and-run collision on Riverside Avenue while intoxicated and then left the scene, police said.
Ina Chadwick, 67, of Redcoat Road, was seen by a witness sideswiping another car about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on Riverside Avenue and then drive away, according to the police report. The witness reported the driver’s license plate number to police, and officers found the driver — identified as Chadwick — in her driveway, the report states.
The officer speaking with Chadwick detected an alcohol odor on her breath, police said, and she failed a field sobriety test.
Chadwick was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and evading responsibility.
Bond was set at $500 and Chadwick is schedule to appear Oct. 9 at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
