Driver charged on failure-to-appear warrant

Jelani Lemon, 20, of Bridgeport, was charged early Sunday morning on a warrant for failure to appear in court after she was stopped in Westport for what police said were motor vehicle violations.

The warrant relates to an arrest by Fairfield police for motor vehicle violations, police said.

Lemon was charged with second-degree failure to appear, operating a motor vehicle under suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle; misuse of plates, license or registration, and theft of a motor vehicle number plate or insert.

She was released on $500 bond, and is scheduled to appear Feb. 21 in Norwalk Superior Court.
