Driver charged in months-old Westport accident

Gilcilene Suzano, 49, of Bridgeport, was charged on a warrant last Friday in connection with an accident last September in Westport.

Suzano struck a vehicle from behind on Post Road West, backed up, then continued on her way, police said. A registration plate was noted at the scene, and police said they subsequently determined that Suzano was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.

She was charged with evading responsibility, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and following too closely.

She was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear Jan. 23 in Norwalk Superior Court.
