A South Carolina man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs early Sunday after police said they found him asleep behind the wheel of his car on the Post Road.
Guy Franklin, 60, of Alcolu, S.C., was found sleeping in his car, its engine still running, about 1:15 a.m. Sunday on the Post Road bridge, police said.
The officer approaching Franklin detected the smell of alcohol and administered field sobriety tests, which Franklin failed, according to the report.
Bond was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear Sept. 11 in Norwalk Superior Court.
