Dora, the 7-year-old Latina heroine from the animated series "Dora the Explorer" typically finds herself on adventures that take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rain forests.
On Sunday, Aug. 4, she will explore sharks, seals, river otters, sea turtles, jellies and more than 100 other species from Long Island Sound and its watershed at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. Dora will also greet her young fans and pose for photos, so bring a camera.
Dora will also explore the special "Lorikeets" summer exhibit, which includes an aviary with more than 50 freeflying lorikeets, a colorful species of parrot native to the south Pacific. The birds land on guests' arms to feed on cups of nectar.
Meeting Dora will be free with aquarium admission.
