Doctor to give Norwalk Hospital update

Westport Sunrise Rotary will host a talk by Dr. Michael R. Marks, of Westport, vice president of business development at Norwalk Hospital, during its breakfast meeting on Friday, March 1, at 7:30 a.m. at Bobby Q's restaurant, 42 Main St.
Marks will provide an update on the hospital in a talk, "Norwalk Hospital -- Building Our Future," providing an overview of the ambulatory pavilion project and other key hospital initiatives.
In his role, he is responsible for the hospital's business development, occupational health services and marketing.
Marks, also president of Norwalk Hospital Physicians and Surgeons since 2004, has served on the hospital's Board of Trustees, Finance Committee and Quality Committee, as well as on other hospital committees. He formerly served as chief of the hospital's medical staff.
Marks has practiced orthopedic surgery since 1988 with Barton, Markey and Brody and then with its subsequent organization Coastal Orthopaedics until 2010. He is a graduate of Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He also holds an MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
There is a $12 fee for the meeting, which includes a breakfast buffet.
