Discount First Night buttons available through Friday

Buttons to Westport's First Night festivities will be on sale for a discounted "Early Bird" price of $10 through Friday, Dec. 14.

The buttons, designed by local graphic artist Miggs Burrough and serving as the event's admission ticket, will be on sale at their full price of $15 beginning Saturday, Dec. 15, according to a release. Children 2 and under are free.

First Night is a community-wide celebration of New Year's Eve through the arts. This year, over 25 performances will be held at various Westport locations from 4 to 10:30 p.m. New Year's Eve, Dec. 31.

Buttons may be bought at www.firstnightww.com or at the following Westport locations: Westport Public Library, 20 Jesup Road.; Westport/Weston Family Y, 59 Post Road E.; Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave.; TD Bank, 185 Main St.; Trader Joe's, 400 Post Road E.; Oscar's Deli, 159 Main St.; and Weston Hardware, 190 Weston Road, Weston.

Volunteers are being sought to help with planning and working with local merchants, town officials, vendors and local talent all involved in the event, in its 19th year.
