Any person or business with personal property to declare must file a Personal Property Declaration at the New Milford Assessor's Office no later than Nov. 3.

According to the tax assessor's office, personal property includes, but is not limited to: unregistered motor vehicles, machinery and equipment, furniture and fixtures, mechanic tools, electronic data processing equipment (including software), leased equipment, and farm machinery and tools.

If personal property is leased, then be sure to indicate who is responsible for the tax and the name and complete mailing address of the leasing company.

If your business has closed, then supply the assessor's office with a Certificate of Dissolution or other proof.
