Celebrating its 37th anniversary, CraftWestport will this year feature about 160 artists and craftspeople from about 20 states across the country at its weekend event on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18, at Staples High School.
Presented by the Westport Young Woman's League, the show has developed into one of the most anticipated events in the region, featuring one-of-a-kind and limited-edition contemporary pieces.
Among the crafts that will be on display and available for purchase are gourmet/specialty foods, glass objects, metal and non-metal jewelry, leather goods, wearable and non-wearable fiber creations, clay vessels, wood objects and scrimshaw.
Fashion accessories, furniture, home decor pieces and functional and sculptural works will be included, as will such fine arts as photography, drawings, paintings, prints and mixed media.
Visitors will have the opportunity to get a jump on their holiday shopping while raising money for the Woman's League -- a nonprofit organization that plans to donate the net proceeds from admission fees to local charities.
