Marine officers checking to make sure people fishing at Frost Point had required fishing licenses Saturday afternoon arrested a New York state resident wanted in that state as a fugitive from justice.

O'Niel A. Cherrington, 35, of Mount Vernon, N.Y., was taken into custody because a computer check revealed he was wanted on a warrant issued by the U.S. Marshal's office.

Local police, however, said they did not have details on the charges that Cherrington faces in connection with the warrant..

Bond for Cherrington was set at $100,000 prior to his extradition.
