A Bridgeport woman faces charges -- including a drug offense -- after she left a young child in her car while she went shopping last week, police said.
Eleanor Cobb, 48, of Rosedale Street, was charged with risk of injury to a minor for leaving the 4-year-old alone in the car Dec. 4 while she shopped nearby, according to police.
"Cobb admitted she had been drinking and had a `crack pipe' in the vehicle," according to the police report. Officers also learned that she had shoplifted merchadise from Walgreen's, the report said.
Cobb was also charged with sixth-degree larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was released after posting a $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 14 in Norwalk Superior Court.
