A woman who police said was involved in a drunken-driving accident was apprehended early Thursday as she tried to flee the scene in another car, according to the report.
Katherine Allen, 27, of Bradley Street in Fairfield, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading responsibility and failure to drive right.
Officers dispatched to the scene of a single-car accident about 2:15 a.m. Thursday said they were told by witnesses that the driver had fled the scene in another car, according to the report. The second vehicle in which Allen was a passenger was stopped, and police said a strong odor of alcohol was detected.
Allen was administered roadside sobriety tests and failed, police said.
She was released on a promise to appear Dec. 26 at Norwalk Superior Court to face the charges.
