Kadine Ritchie, 34, of Bridgeport, was charged by Westport police Monday night when an officer on patrol saw that her vehicle did not have a front license plate, police said.
After checking Ritchie's background, police said they learned that a warrant for her arrest for violating probation had been issued by Canton police. Ritchie had been involved in a pursuit with Canton police, causing nearly $7,500 in damages to a Canton police vehicle, according to police. As part of her probation, Ritchie was ordered to make restitution to the town of Canton for those damages, police said. The warrant showed that Ritchie failed to make restitution or conform to the other conditions of probation, police added.
Ritchie is scheduled to appear in Jan. 11 in Hartford Superior Court for the violation of probation charge and held on a court-set $10,000 bond. She was also held on a $500 bond for several Westport motor vehicle charges with a court date and was scheduled to have been arraigned Wednesday morning in Norwalk Superior Court.
