Police had to subdue a teenager they said was attempting to gain access to a residence on Hyatt Lane with a stun gun shortly after midnight Saturday.

Roscoe Brown, 18, of Sturges Highway was charged with second-degree attempt to commit burglary, interfering with a police office and breach of peace in the 12:10 a.m. incident.

Officers were dispatched to the Hyatt Lane residence after the homeowner reported that someone was trying to gain access to his residence, according to the police report.

"Upon arrival, officers located the suspect who refused to comply with their verbal commands," the police statement reads.

Officers on the scene subdued the suspect -- later identified as Brown -- using a stun gun and took him into custody.

Brown was released after posting a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear June 3 in Norwalk Superior Court.
