A Norwalk man faces charges after police said he threatened his girlfriend with a knife Sunday.

Matthew McGuinness, 56, of Main Avenue in Norwalk, was charged with disorderly conduct -- threatening.

Police were dispatched to a Wilton Road residence around 9:50 p.m. Sunday and, according to the report, found McGuinness was intoxicated and had displayed a kitchen knife in a threatening manner.

McGuinness did not post bond and was scheduled to have appeared Monday at state Superior Court in Norwalk.
