A Norwalk man was charged with heroin possession following a motor vehicle stop Wednesday on the Sherwood Island Connector.
Christopher Istona, 22, of Valley View Road, Norwalk, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance: narcotics.
Subsequent to the 5:30 p.m. motor vehicle stop -- for an equipment violation, police said -- officers were given consent to search Istona's vehicle, according to a police report.
During the search, officers located 20 glassine packets that field tested positive for heroin, the report said.
Istona was released after posting a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear April 11 in Norwalk Superior Court.
