The Westport Center for Senior Activities will host cooking demonstrations on the last Thursdays of July, August and September.

Holistic health expert Jeanne Licurse will lead the following demonstrations from 3 to 5 p.m. for $6 a class:

July 28: Spinach lasagna, summer salad and ginger cookies.

Aug. 25: Mushroom ragout, polenta with herbs and caramelized apple crepes.

Sept. 29: Parsnip pierogi, red cabbage slaw and lime meltaways.

Also, Chef Bryan Malcarney of the Blue Lemon Restaurant will demonstrate a three-course meal of salmon tartare, marinated hanger steak and strawberry shortcake Aug. 11. The class will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and will cost $25 per person.
