A coalition of Westport and Weston organizations is sponsoring two workshops on the topic, “Mindful Parenting: Strategies to Manage Stress and Promote Inner Strength,” next week.

Lisa Lantieri, a former teacher and administrator who has been in the education field more than four decades, will address the topic with the focus, according to sponsors: “What would parenting look like if you experienced less stress and anxiety, had more control over your emotions, and had the space and capacity for reflection before taking action?”

The free presentations, open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday in Weston Middle School, 135 School Road in Weston, and at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the auditorium of Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.

Lantieri, a Fulbright Scholar and a co-founder of the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, will discuss areas such as listening mindfully, handling stress and difficult emotions, resolving conflicts effectively, balancing life’s demands and challenges, and enriching the parenting experience.

Sponsoring organizations include Westport’s Department of Human Services, the Westport Positive Youth Development Initiative, Weston Youth Services and the Wilton Youth Council.
