WTNH reports that a 4-year-old boy from Norwich who was taken by his mother has been found safe in Auburn, Maine.

Police were told Thursday that Keyett McDonald, the child's mother, fled to Maine with her son. The Maine State Police and FBI were notified.

The mother and child were located several hours later, at 8 p.m. at a residence in Auburn, police said.

The child was in good health and turned over to Maine child services, WTNH reported.

Police said McDonald was arrested as a fugitive from justice and criminal charges are pending in Connecticut.
