Five area chefs will pool their culinary talents on Wednesday, Nov. 2, for an evening of gourmet cuisine, music and dancing to benefit the American Heart Association.

"Chefs with Heart" is planned in the renovated ballroom of the Westport Inn, 1595 Post Road East.

Westport chefs participating include Jodi Bernhard of Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar, David Donnelly of Eramosa at The Westport Inn, Pedro Garzon of Manolo and pastry chef Robyn Eads of Peace Tree Desserts. They will be joined by Patrick Tennaro of Old Post Tavern in Fairfield.

Each chef will prepare hors d'oeuvres, plus one course of the meal.

The fundraiser is produced by The New England Culinary Group, a Stamford-based organization that supports and services the restaurant industry.

"Fairfield County is chock-full of wonderful culinary events," Linda Kavanagh, co-director of the New England Culinary Group, said in a news release. "We felt it was important to create a truly unique experience that not only showcased the chefs' talents but provided guests with a distinctive, high spirited event."

The Bruce Coviello Group will provide music. The ensemble includes brass and vocals and plays a mix of swing, big band, standards, and Rat Pack favorites, program producers said.

Beverage sponsors are Opici Wines and S.Pellegrino/Acqua Panna.

The evening is planned to begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by dinner and dancing.

Tickets are $150.
