Chef Bryan Malcarney of The Blue Lemon Restaurant will offer a cooking class and dinner on Thursday, Jan.19, at the Westport Center for Senior Activities.

Malcarney will instruct participants in preparing a meal of steamed mussels, beef stew and stuffed-baked apple. The class is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. and costs $25 per person, which includes eating the meal when it is prepared.

Separately, holistic health expert and chef Jeanne Licurse will offer three classes -- one each in January, February and March. Each is on a Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m., and the cost is $6 per session.

On Jan. 12, Licurse will prepare a Middle-Eastern salad with chickpeas and feta cheese, plus a French onion soup.

Her menu Feb. 23 will be bruschetta and raspberry meringue.

March 22 Licurse plans to prepare a meal of Tuscan white beans and tiramisu.

The sizes of all classes are limited, the senior center said. Registration and prepayment are required.

To register, visit the center at 21 Imperial Ave. For more information, call 203-341-5099.
