The Westport Arts Center will present a performance by the Gavin Trio on Sunday, May 20, as the final 2011-2012 season concert in its Chamber Music Series. The trio of violinist Jesse Mills, cellist Raman Ramakrishnan and violist Masumi Per Rostad will perform 4 p.m. in the WAC Gallery, 51 Riverside Ave.

The group will perform masterworks by Schubert, Carter, Dohnanyi and Mozart, according to a center news release.

Mills and Ramakrishnan are members of the Horszowski Trio, while Per Rostad is a member of the Pacifica Quartet, the Metropolitan Museum of Art's ensemble-in-residence.

Mills earned two Grammy Award nominations for his performances of Arnold Schoenberg's music, released by Naxos in 2005 and 2010. He graduated with a bachelor of music degree from the Juilliard School in 2001.

Ramakrishnan won the 2001 Banff International String Quartet Competition as a former member of the Daedalus Quartet. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard University and a master's degree from The Juilliard School, the release states.

Per Rostad, a member of the Pacifica Quartet, won a 2009 Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Performance and the Cleveland Quartet Award, in addition to being named Music America's 2009 Ensemble of the Year. He received his bachelor and master of music degrees from the Juilliard School.
