CHARLES H. CULP

Charles Harrison Culp, 78, of Westport, husband of Barbara W. Culp, died March 10, 2010, in Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born Nov. 1, 1931, in Durham, N.C., son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Foster) Culp, he had been a resident of Westport for the past 33 years. Prior to retiring, Culp was employed by Colgate-Palmolive Co. as vice president of finance.

A 1957 graduate of Duke University, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society and the Westport Y's Men. Culp was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of 56 years, include one son, David H. Culp of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Ann Payne and her husband, Dan of Mooresville, N.C.; and two nieces.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

The Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road E., Westport, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
