BEDFORD, N.Y., -- The Brewster boys basketball team fell just short off completing an amazing second- half rally in a tough 56-53 loss to Fox Lane on Monday.

The Bears (9-10) shot a horrid 3-for-26 in the first half, scoring just eight points, but came roaring back and found themselves within a point with under a minute to go.

"In all my years of coaching, I don't I ever remember a team of mine scoring just two points in one quarter or eight points in a half," said Brewster coach John Martino, who is now in his 27th season. "I was proud of my boys. Sometimes the game can just be cruel and it was cruel to us tonight."

Pat McEntee lead the Bears with 21 points and four 3-pointers and Sean Trainor added 17.

Brewster's next game will be in the Section I playoffs on Friday.
