As a community service for Westport families, Boy Scout Troop 39 plans its third annual Christmas tree pickup on Saturday.

Families looking to have their trees picked up for recycling into mulch must reserve a spot online and place their trees at the end of their driveway the night before the pick-up, according to a release.

A donation of $16 per tree is requested to benefit the troop's activities, such as its food drives, community service projects and backpacking trips. Donations may be made by cash or check made out to Boy Scout Troop 39 and taped to the front door for collecting.

Trees must be at the end of the driveway and the donations must be taped to the door no later than 6:30 a.m. Saturday. Reservations are being accepted at www.troop39scouts.com/treepickup.htm
