There's a new place to look for that perfect bottle of wine to complement a fine meal.
Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit, which recently opened at the corner of Bulkley Avenue South and Post Road East, offers customers a selection of 400 different wines.
The roughly 4,000-square-foot store is the second such establishment opened by New York entrepreneur Tom Geniesse, the first debuting in lower Manhattan in 2006, according to the business' website.
The store, which also sells 300 brands of spirits and liqueurs and 100 types of beer, displays its wine selection on islands organized by themes, such as foods, take-out, recipes, organic and gifts, and in traditional alphabetical order by country.
It also offers information on various wine and food pairings, including seafood, meat and poultry, as well as a range of prices and country origins.
The store, which provides free delivery and employs 10 workers, also has wine and cookbooks, a children's play area and educational opportunities for customers, according to a news release from the store. It is also designed with environmentally friendly materials.
The Manhattan store in 2009 was named the No. 2 wine store in New York City by Zagat, the release states.
Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit, 1790 Post Road East, is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Call 203-259-3939 for information.
