A "Boathouse Bash" is planned to benefit the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County on Sunday at the Saugatuck Rowing Club, 521 Riverside Ave.

The event, from 4 to 6 p.m., will raise money for needy patients served by the nonprofit home health-care agency. It will feature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a performance by jazz musician Chris Coogan, a silent auction and a "giving tree."

"The auction offerings are exceptional this year," Ken Edgar, a member of the agency's Benefit Committee, said in a publicity release for the event. "They include tickets to the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, U.S. Open tickets and lunch with sports personality Chris `Mad Dog' Russo, tickets to a Yankees/Red Sox game, a sail on the Spirit of America, a trip to Santa Fe, tickets to the Rachael Ray Show, and much, much more."

Members of the volunteer benefit committee also include Carol Bauer, Carol Boehly, Donna Conway, Alex Eising, Judy Higby, Janet Lebovitz, Ellen Lewis, Molly Russo and Carlyn Tiefenthaler.

Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are still available.
