A "Professor" brought a very different kind of lesson to the Westport Library on Sunday.

No dry presentation of facts and figures, it was a lively mix of blues and Americana music performed by the Grammy Award-nominated Professor Louie & the Crowmatix.

The group, based in Woodstock, N.Y., has been recording and touring nationally for many years. It has backed up the group, The Band, as well as Rick Danko, Levon Helm and Garth Hudson.

The Professor's performance got high marks from the local crowd of both young and older music lovers.
