The Westport Beautification Committee will hold its annual Beautification Awards ceremony at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the lobby of Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.

First Selectman Gordon Joseloff will present this year's recipients with a plaque of appreciation to business owners who have "made it their mission" to beautify their commercial properties, according to a release.

The winners are: Sherwood Diner, Terrain, the Westport Inn and the Saugatuck Rowing Club.

An honorary award will be given to the Laurel Rock Co. for preserving the Gateway Gardens on the east end of the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Memorial Bridge downtown.

Award criteria include colorful plantings, trees, welcoming benches, attractive lighting, and yearly consistency and commitment, the release states.
