August events planned at senior center

The Westport Center for Senior Activities offers several upcoming events.
A class on the art of stamping takes place Thursday, Aug. 2, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Joyce Botton will show participants how to make greeting cards. Materials will be supplied. The cost is $5; advance registration is required.
The film "The Artist" will be screened Thursday, Aug. 2, at 5:30 p.m. Refreshements will be offered at 5 p.m. The cost is $6 and reservations are required.
On Aug. 8, gardening expert Diane Ringelheim will speak from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on solutions to garden problems. The program is free.
Holistic health expert Jeanne Licurse will offer a cooking class and meal Thursday, Aug. 9, from 3 to 5 p.m. The meal includes black bean burritos, summer salad and sauteed apples with maple glaze. The cost is $6; advance registration is required.
