A series of slide lectures titled "The Romantic Era in European Art in the 19th and 20th Centuries," is planned at the Westport Center for Senior Activities on three consecutive Fridays in May.

The lectures are planned from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. on May 4,11 and 18 and will be delivered by art historian Harriet Hiller. The program is sponsored by The Friends of the Westport Center for Senior Activities.

Hiller is adjunct professor of art history at Sacred Heart University and Housatonic Community College. An artist herself, she was written and lectured about art and has been an art gallery director and dealer, the friends group said in a news release.

The lectures will cover European artists in 19th century Paris, Vienna, London and Oslo used love in various forms and the subject of their work, according to the release. They include Renoir, Manet, Degas, Rodin and others.

The series is free and open to the public at the senior center, 21 Imperial Ave.
