STRATFORD -- An armed man pointed a gun at a motel clerk early Wednesday morning, and fled with $600, police said.

Security camera footage shows a man dressed all in black enter the Stratford Hotel at 225 Lordship Boulevard shortly before 4 a.m. and point a long gun at the clerk, said Lt. Frank Eannotti, the police spokesman.

The robber gave the clerk a white plastic bag and demanded that cash be put into it. He got about $600, Eannotti said. The suspect then fled on foot out a side door and headed east. No shots were fired and there were no injuries.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Stratford Police Department at 203-385-4119.
