Applicants sought for open RTM seat

The Representative Town Meeting is seeking candidates to fill the vacancy in District 3 created by the resignation last month of Hadley Rose, who also served as the leislative body's moderator. He stepped down because he and his wife are moving to Simsbury.
The vacancy must be filled by a registered voter living in District 3, according to the Town Charter.
No party affiliation is required because the RTM is nonpartisan. The term expires in November, when all seats on the RTM will be on the municipal election ballot.
District 3 residents interested in being considered to fill the vacancy can send a resume, on or before April 17, to the Town Clerk's Office, attention Patricia Strauss, 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport, or by email to email@example.com.
"It was a pleasure working with Hadley and on behalf of the entire RTM, I wish him well as he relocates to Simsbury," Eileen Lavigne Flug, the RTM's new moderator, said in a statement. "As the leader of the town's legislative body, he has successfully directed this body through six years of budget hearings, adoption of ordinances, and town appropriations, and he implemented many ideas to keep RTM meetings running efficiently."
Questions can be directed to Flug or to the remaining district members, Jimmy Izzo, Melissa Kane or Bill Meyer. Contact information and a district boundary map are available on the town's website, http://bit.ly/13S4IVa
