Anamaria Tamayo, 79, of Southport, wife of Jaime Tamayo, died March 23 at home.

Born in Santiago, Chile, she was the daughter of the late Luis and Eloise Valdes. She was married in Chile in 1958 and immigrated to the United States that same year. She had been a resident of the Southport section of Fairfield since 1969.

She worked for Saks Fifth Avenue for 40 years.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two children, Rodrigo Tamayo and Claudia Boyd; a granddaughter, Grace Ana Droney; a sister, Graciella Ortega, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Hugo, and a sister, Helene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, in St. Luke Church, 84 Long Lots Road, Westport. Burial will be private.
